Mid Michigan Soldier Killed in Afghanistan
Comments 0 | Recommend 0WEIDMAN, Mich. (AP) _ A soldier from mid-Michigan has been killed while serving in Afghanistan.
The Department of Defense says Army Sgt. 1st Class Gregory A. Rodriguez, of Weidman, died Tuesday of wounds suffered in Ana Kalay, Afghanistan, when his mounted patrol came under small arms fire.
The 35-year-old Rodriguez was assigned to the K-9 unit of the 527th Military Police Company, 709th Military Police Battalion, 18th MP Brigade, Ansbach, Germany.
Weidman is about 50 miles north of Lansing in Isabella County.
