Silver Bells in the City
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Friday was the 24th annual Silver Bells the in the city in Lansing and hundreds of thousands of people braved the cold weather to take part.
This year's celebration was a lot of fun and if you ask the attendees, it was also a huge success.
"Love it. It's a lot of fun. It starts off the Christmas season," said Paul Pfeiffer.
Paul Pfeiffer has been attending Silver Bells in the City for the past 20 years and he says it never gets old.
Others are seeing it for the first time.
"This is our first time. We just moved here from Sault Saint Marie, Ontario," said Cyndi Jones. "I think it's great."
It was Angela Ledger's first time at Silver Bells in the City too. She said, "It's cold outside and it's nice."
Jenny Meyer said, "I think it's pretty neat. I'm here with my best friend so it couldn't be any better of a time."
"I like all the different bands in the parade. I just like all the different people coming out and having a good time celebrating the holiday season," said Aaron Ledger.
Not even the freezing temperatures could keep Michiganders away.
Some even came from as far away as California to see the lighting of the state Christmas tree.
Sharon Lebioda who came home for parade said, "It's snowy and cold but it's far from California, but I still love it."
"It's nice. It gets better and better each year," said Ernsto Bustillos, six time parade veteran.
Jen Schram loves it. "It's great. I'm coming next year for sure," she said.
Even if you missed the parade it's not to late the take part in the celebration.
Now that the state Christmas tree is lit you can go downtown and check it out all through the holiday season.
