Red Cross Cleanup

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

Times are tough everywhere, and now the groups that help people through those tough times are in need themselves.

It's been a rough couple of months for the Red Cross and things are about to get even worse.

Between tornadoes, local house fires and flooding across the mid-west, the Red Cross is already stretched to the limit financially.

In fact, it's pretty much out of cash.

Rachelle Wood of the American Red Cross said, "Nationally we're out of money out of our national disaster services funds and the Red Cross on the national scale is borrowing the money to help respond to these disasters. We're going to provide the same quality of service that we always provide but we do need the help."

Currently, volunteers are picking up the slack as best they can.

Seven locals are working the floods in Iowa, Wisconsin and Indiana.

They are providing food, shelter and clothing to the thousands of people who have lost their homes.

The Red Cross is always looking for help.  If you want to contribute, they are accepting money and volunteers.
