Parents and children on any restricted diet such as diabetes, allergies, PKU, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's, etc. are welcome.
Food is the sustenance of life. It is instinctive for all mothers to feed their children.
What happens when normal food causes problems for the child? When do parents become overprotective? When does the stress become overwhelming?
What does one do with the toddler standing by the cupboard, "Cracker, Cracker" but the cracker will cause him/her to become ill? Does the toddler understand?
What about the eight year old who is diabetic and cannot eat candy from a class party?
What about the teenager who wants to go to a pizza party with the team but cannot have any wheat? How does one tell their mother-in-law they can not eat that wonderful casserole because it contains wheat flour?
How about the wedding parties? Other family get-togethers?
How does one speak to the feelings of the 80 year old grandmother who cannot giver her grandchild a cookie?
All of these issues will be discussed.
